Environmental factors concerning our products
Eradicating the mosquito population in your surroundings does not necessarily mean that animals or birds are affected when the mosquitoes disappear from your garden. Our mosquito traps do not release any harmful substances that can harm animals, birds or wildlife.
The only mosquito traps which may indirectly affect the environment in a negative way are the ones that convert propane gas into carbon dioxide. When the propane gas is burned it releases carbon dioxide which is one of the main attractants for mosquitoes as this is precisely the same substance that humans exhale. However, because propane gas is a fossil fuel it also increases the amount of carbon dioxide in the earth's atmosphere. The amount released by one tank is not that high and it is approximately the same amount that a single human breathes out during the day.
Other substances/chemicals used in for example, mosquito repellents (ThermaCell) and mosquito sprays are all approved under UK law. The substance called octanol is also used in the food industry.
